So, what's there to know about this Angry Black Womyn? I'm a social justice and social change activist who joined the movement at age 16. I'm almost 52 now, so you do the math. It was my desire to change the world that caused me to get involved, and partially, to assuage the guilt that I felt for being born too late to participate in the civil rights movement. When I started out, I was involved in a number of causes - peace and justice, anti apartheid, anti nuclear, women's issues, issues affecting homeless people, the American Indian Movement (AIM), LGBT issues and finally, the disability rights movement, specifically, a group called ADAPT.

I'm pretty liberal, the kind of person most people love to hate. My views are ironclad and I cling fiercely to them - that injustice anywhere is injustice everywhere, that all groups of people deserve the same rights and freedoms that the dominant culture enjoys and that no one is going to give you your civil rights - you must fight to get them, then, fight to keep them. Like Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., I believe in the power of nonviolent civil disobedience, up to, and including, arrest. My track record of 124 arrests in 36 years bears this out.

What more is there to know about me? Far too much to include here, but as you read my blog posts and articles, you will come to know me quite well.

I hope you enjoy.
